"Shamanism” is the 11th album by Siberian project Devilgroth. This experimental album was recorded by the band's founder Ruslan Aarsland (also the author of the books: Dungeon Synth - The Rebirth Of The Legend and Russian Black Metal) alone and dedicated to his former band members. The drummer left the band in 2017 due to the illness of schizophrenia. And the former vocalist voluntarily passed away in 2024. As of 2025, Devilgroth will abandon session musicians, as it did in 2023-2024, and will remain a one-man project. “Shamanism” presents a unified sonic and rhythmic flow. The songs are about reincarnation. The cycle of life and death.
(The album cover artwork was provided by an anonymous Dutch artist and psychiatric patient, who in the past participated in track recording and cover artwork for the legendary noize project Stalaggh. Track number 9 is the official remix of Moëvöt - In Einem Friedhof - Errance. From a member and co-founder of the cult French musicians' group Les Legions Noires).
