A walk-in shower with a built-in bench offers a modern, practical design that's great for everyone — especially helpful for visiting elderly family members or post-surgery recovery. Just thinking ahead for the future. You can do a corner bench or a full bench — just some options to consider.

I’m in a hot climate & you’ll want a shower for summer, as well as an outdoor shower head for rinsing off BEFORE getting in the pool as well as after (scum from sunscreen is a pain to clean off the tiles - look into diatomaceous earth filters as far more efficient than cartridge). But come winter, nothing beats a long hot soak after a hard day. People forget how cold houses can get in climates where the focus is mostly on cooling, not heating. Tubs are convenient for washing pets, kids, laundry & even storing drinking water ahead of fires or storms when power to wells will be disrupted for long stretches of time.

Grew up in household of twelve. For years we struggled with one bath. Changed to a walk in shower and the world changed. So much quicker, safer, cheaper.

I just stumbled upon your channel today. I dream of a vacation in Sicily, but what you're doing is beyond me. When it comes to bathrooms, I definitely recommend a shower. Sicily is a warm place. I'd put a bathtub in the garden; the seasonal vibe is something like that. I've subscribed 😁 Good luck

You have to take into account the water needed for bathing and Sicily has droughts A shower over a bath would give you both options

With the sea close by, a perfect place to have a soak in the warm waters, at least in summer!

Conserving water is a big must for me. Also maybe recycling old tiles 😊

We are in Queensland, Australia and as its a hotter climate we only really shower. So having a shower is the way to go I would say.

A shower with stylish tile or porcelain panels and a glass door will add sparkle to your bathroom. But do keep a squeegee in the bathroom for a quick dry of the shower after use. I live in Puglia and the water here is hard and mineral deposits will build up. Also recommend de-calc cleaners as needed.

If it’s going to be for year round living I’d go for both. If it’s just a April - Oct home a shower would be better - uses less water, quicker for the family to all use it

I. Love showers because they can be had quickly without using a lot of water and I’m not a bath person, however I would Instal a bath. As I’m aging I often feel the need to bath. Sore body, injuries and an Epsom bath soak is bliss for a tired and sore body. My vote, go for both. Modern shower build are great space saver. No built ins for me, have shower corner, easy access easy cleaning, just a gentle floor drain slope. Explore possibilities…. Enjoy

A bathtub in Sicily gets very little use and can be expensive to fill. If you have a really good water source and fotovoltaico to heat water ok but otherwise costly and shower makes much more sense during the 6 months of hot weather

Both! While a shower can be invigorating and quick, nothing sooths sore muscles better than a nice hot soak in the bath.

We're in exactly this situation now, bathroom reno starting in a few days hopefully, and we're now going with the shower option after this house only having a single bath for over 100 years afaik. Our main consideration was safety/convenience as we get older and may need something way easier to use as our mobility or health may decline. It's a tiny room but we will squeeze in a shower stall big enough for easy access by keeping it all very simple. We loved our bath but it will likely not suit our requirements for much longer and it's easy enough to put an outside spa/bath in if you feel the need to soak.

Bathtub that can be used as a shower. Rainhead from the very ceiling and wand for hard to reach areas. And multiple spray heads on the wall because why not!

You could install a Japanese soak tub outside. When we refurbished post earthquakes my husband was keen we install a bath with a shower overhead. The bath is used only in the winter and maybe once a week.

Over bath shower, using one of those baths that are wider at the shower end. Outdoor shower also. Showers are more water efficient.

If you really have to choose for space reasons a walk in shower would be ideal but us Brits like to relax in a bath too 😂. No explanations necessary it is what it is
