I love your videos! I dared to sew knit because you said I can do it! I made my own capsule wardrobe from watching all your videos. Thank you so much. 💓 I started sewing quilts only a year ago and I was so intimidated by trying clothes, but I appreciated that you showed all your mistakes and how you corrected them, and that showed me I can wing it and win too! All the best to you

First of all: I love both of your channels. You are the reason for some of my WiPs (patchwork split side skirt) and finished objects (3 sashiko napkins/placemats) and the motivation to work on some of my embroidery projects. I assume the fiber craft bug will get to you eventually (knitting, crocheting, spinning…) 😃

Congratulations! I personally don't have any assumptions, but I just wanted to tell you, you were my inspiration for my "thesis" at the end of my post-highschool study in fashion! I doubt you will remember, but a bit more thaya year ago I commented under one of the videos about split-side skirts(or pants, can't remember now) and I said that I was going to make a jumpsuit. Well, I did! It came out amazing, is sooo functional, and the challenge and complexity made it possible to analyse everything necessary to use it as the base for my thesis! I'm so glad that I found your channel, you have wonderful ideas and insights, all the things that spark so much creativity, and I'm surely not the only one. So, I just wanted to say, thank you! I always look forward to your videos! (Also, sorry for spelling or grammatical errors, English is not my first language)

I assume the puppy breaks while working far outweigh the amount of time working. Or close to it.

Congrats! I assume you’re going to continue to introduce me to more crafts than I knew existed. I found one you didn’t introduce me to, but you lead me to Morgan Donner, and Morgan Donner introduced me to finger loop braiding. It’s been great fun. On a more personal note, I assume you’re one of the most liberal in your childhood family. I also assume there’s a lot you leave out when discussing same family.

I assume if you had to choose between swimming with sharks and petting a tiger, you would first ask a lot of questions about safety and such... and then start wondering if they have something cooler in the back.

wooo congrats! you mentioned it briefly in a more recent video on your second channel i believe, but i had assumed that you do not plan to be a parent based on your house remodeling videos/plans. i am in my early 20s, neurodivergent, a crafter, and do not want kids, so it makes me really happy seeing you the way you live your life and set up your spaces to fit your hobbies and what brings you joy.

Congrats! Well-deserved. Your videos are like a conversation with a friend. --- Suggestions: 🤔 "Have you heard of [insert other craft Maker]?" Suggesting "Charlie Nebe" to "The Stitchery" as if they're two different people. --- Someone leaves a comment on a video saying, "I don't do embroidery, I am an underwater basket weaver, but we seem to have similar approaches to our respective crafts" and suddenly you've been up for three days straight and have just scheduled a diving course so you can do underwater basket weaving with a scuba tank at the bottom of the pool you're about to surprise Matt with in your backyard...

Congratulations! 🎉 I assume that you have half a dozen unfinished works in progress at any one time. Like me!

Ooh congratulations! My wild assumption: you don’t like watching new shows or movies and would far rather rewatch an old favorite

I've been watching for at least 2 years now. I found your channel because I was trying to learn a new embroidery Stitch. I enjoyed your content so much did I watched a lot of your older videos until I finally got caught up. Now I look forward to your videos every Friday and every other Monday. Because I've been getting to know you through your tangents and stories, I have no assumptions, but I am really enjoying the comments because I know some of the answers. Congratulations on 250K!

Congratulations! My assumption is that you have at least 6 projects currently unfinished. And that you have a box with slips of paper, each with the name of a project you wa t to do or one you haven't finished and you draw one to see what you will work on next. If you get a new one, you do a little happy dance with the puppy. If you get a WiP you sigh and trudge resigned to the closet to dig it out.

I assume you‘d try out quilting some time in the future if it wasn’t for all the other crafts you feel like trying (since I started my first quilt, I learned knitting, did not knit for a whole year, knit one sweater and am currently halfway through the second one. Not to mention the 15 pairs of pants I sewed last summer - 3 different patterns though! modified the zipper version of the pants into an elastic waistband one and made the elastic one into shorts as well) I also strongly assume you basically have no store bought clothing items in your closet at this point? At least nothing bought new in the last 2 years. And, of course, I‘m guessing you have an insanely delicious baking recipe you‘d like to share with the community :) Congrats on 250k btw! I only got here when doing research on sashiko embroidery and just stayed here. Now guess how much I’ve actually Sashiko embroidered (the answer is nothing)

I assume that you, like me, experience a sudden absence of examples to call on when given a prompt (such as assumptions to declare about someone), when otherwise outside of the prompted moment you usually have such things come to mind all the time XD

Congratulations! Your videos always make me laugh and often teach me things! Assumptions? If you're like me, and from what I see on your channels, you like to learn ANYTHING (almost everything). You seem like the kind of person who likes to learn all kinds of stuff, love it no matter what it is, and tell people about it (despite people not necessarily finding what you've done interesting). It's a struggle!

No assumptions. I find your videos fun and inspiring. I recently made my first split side skirt with no pattern. Thanks for all the inspiration to just try something, and learn as you go.

Best Congratulations Charlie, well deserved. I love all your videos and am even going back to some of the older ones on embroidery, which is something I also like to do. One of my favourite videos was your trip to the UK and the embroidery course you did. Have you thought about doing another of their courses in the future?

Congrats!!! And, based on how your videos are often edited, I assume you enjoy editing and have found the joy of creating in making your videos and not just in making the stuff you make in them. SECOND ASSUME I assume that you, too, have " ooooo shined" your way into a ridiculous number of crafts. I assume this because I am also of the neurospicy club, and my craft room has a lot of supplies for things that are not my main crafts. It's why it's my craft room and not my sewing room. I have sewing stuff, cross stitch/embroidery stuff, and knitting/crochet stuff. But I also have stuff for candle making, a dremel (for making my own needle minders), and soldering equipment. So yeah... I just assume you are the same way and actually have a vast knowledge of random things BUT.... also have some stuff for things you wanted to learn, but never did (like I did with the candlemaking... and now I have birds and can't burn candles... why do I still have it???)

The Stitchery
Hey hey, we passed 250k subscribers a while back (welcome everyone - ya’ll are the freaking best!) so you know what that means: time to use a milestone as an excuse for a “get to know me” video! (As if most of my videos aren’t get-to-know-me videos already… 😂)
Since I did a Q&A a couple years ago when we hit 100k, let’s mix it up this time - I’ve always thought the “answering your assumptions about me” format is a lot of fun, so let’s do it!
Leave your wildest, most outrageous, or potentially most accurate assumptions about me in the comments, and we’ll have a good time going through them with confirmations and denials. Is there anything left that I haven’t already overshared about? Who’s to say!
I might even use this chat as an opportunity to get some work done on a certain felt-heavy skirt-in-progress… In case anyone wants a sneak peak. 😏
