I wasn’t really a fan of Shin when it came out, but slowly have liked it more. For Minus One, I instantly loved it.

I love Shin Godzilla, especially the rampage to that wonderful, dramatic song, but man, Godzilla Minus One made me cry in joy at the end, I was fully invested in the human characters! It's god-tier, pun intended

Shon Godzilla is MY kind of movie. I am clearly in the minority, and i do adore Minus One. But in Hideaki Anno I stand.

While I do like Shin Godzilla, Minus One just has the better written characters, story and Godzilla scenes.

I gotta say, I don't like Shin that much. Minus One is my 2nd favorite Godzilla movie and I think we should all agree that much

Pros and cons: Shin: Made by Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi (Neon Genesis Ev) Music by Shiro Sagisu (Bleach) Terrifying scenes all around Can be used for many global events (director said so) Con: Dated sound effects and little to no use of other plotlines, no satirized American version a-la 1956 Minus One: OSCAR WINNER!!!! FINALLY!!!! AMAZING effects More personally relatable plotline References to popular movies (Jaws, Jurassic Park, ET, Oppenheimer) Very centralized plotline with valuable lesson and no open holes IMAX and 4DX are THE DEFINITIVE WAY TO WATCH THIS MASTERPIECE Cons: Only 2 hours long, and no satirized American version a-la 1956 (just to fill the list the same, Toho will never allow it as they distributed it themselves) Which is better?

I love Shin Godzilla, but admittedly the characters in that film weren’t super interesting. Minus had perfect characters AND Godzilla stuff.

Supreme Roshi
One Godzilla film stays. The other one disappears.
Which one are you choosing to stay?
