Celebrating 40 Years of The Breakfast Club with Anthony Michael Hall!

This was a full-circle moment I’ll never forget.

The VHS in my hands? That’s the same copy I bought as a kid—watched it countless times. It’s the movie that introduced me to John Hughes and made me fall in love with cinema.

But this film was more than entertainment. It gave me clarity and comfort during my teenage years. It reminded me I wasn’t alone in feeling misunderstood, and that everyone hides something beneath the surface.

I even used one of its most raw scenes—when Bender mocks Brian’s “perfect” family—as part of a high school speech about the illusion of the American Dream. That moment still hits.

The Breakfast Club continues to shape how I see the world. Every day.

Meeting Anthony Michael Hall and sharing that impact with him? That wasn’t just nostalgic. That was personal. That was powerful.
