Honestly, I’ve found that just taking a break for a bit works. There have been multiple times where I wasn’t sure where to take one of my songs, so I just procrastinated. But procrastination proved to be a perfectly valid strategy as a new idea for where to take it just random came to me a week or so later.

I could say the same thing about writing a script. When you have a good plot idea, but then you don't know how to segway into all of the different scenes. Or can't come up with good dialogue. But then eventually you get back into the zone and write a pretty wholesome ending that you're happy about.
