I worked for several years in Sound Design and as a Sound Recordist. Gotta say that I still absolutely love all the tech. Surround sound is so under appreciated by people who don’t understand it. But I think it’s the first step to truly impress your audience with taking your work to the next level. I was surprised to find recently that there were many ambisonic released commercial music albums even back to the 70’s (maybe earlier). It’s a very interesting concept. Can’t wait to see how The Boss shows us his work in this upcoming vid.

I have the Rode NT-SF1 going into Sound Devices Mix pre 6 & 10. Tentacle sync time code generators. My normal forte is recording , mixing & mastering music for rock bands. Came up with a very 3-D sound with that process so all this Ambisonics stuff is super cool as well. ✌️

Very exciting. I’d love to personally work more as an immersive sound mixer.

Wohoo this is great! Could you include any news in automating audio tracking when talents leave the frame and come again (e.g. when in equirectangular/(360°) crossing the seamline or leaving the frame and appearing again in 180°). I once sent you the idea of using the 360 aware tracking of the fusion tab and either export the motion data for fairlight or find a way to rotate the sound sphere right from the fusion tab. Have you tried anything here since? Would be great to see something new in the video regarding that topic 😍

@houghhou Could you maybe read my last comment regarding 360° soatial audio tracking again? I spoke about the weaknesses of the method you showed in your last video, that it stops trackinng when the subject crosses the steamline (which effectivly occurs when rotating the 360 camera in any kind or when subjects are walking around). More details on what trick I meant with Fusion Tracking instead is in the last comment. :)

@soothingescapism

I have wanted to master the Zoom H3VR with my nature sounds videos for YouTube. I want it to sound like the crickets and frogs are all around you and at different distances!!! I can't seem to make the finished product sound right on YouTube 😢. I know I can count on Hugh to help me figure it out in Davinci Resolve 😁
