That frog is cute. He reminds me of the creatures from old school horror films. I love their little faces.

Sweet! 🥹 Did you guys ever have any toads at the Reptarium? I live right next to a big forest and in summer they always come and get their bugs by my door and I keep the light on for them too Lol. They get used to me hanging around outside and get close. I can usually call them and they’ll come out from the woods 😂 I wanted to know if it scares them to be pet? I have pet a few toads but I always wash my hands thoroughly after. I just hope it doesn’t scare the

April is Frog Month! 🐸 This month, we are going to feature a species of frog every week! Today, we’ll feature the unique Turtle Frog!
Turtle frogs are a species of frog commonly found in Western Australia in woodlands and scrub with sandy soils. The name “turtle frog” derives from their distinctive appearance that looks like a turtle without its shell! 🐢
These frogs spend most of their days living underground, burrowing headfirst into the soil with their muscular front legs. After breeding, turtle frog eggs are laid at least 3 feet deep underground, where development occurs entirely within the eggs, without a free-living tadpole stage! 😱
Their diet 🍽️ consists largely of termites, with some records showing the turtle frog eating up to 500 termites in one sitting!!
Credit to @BraveWilderness for this AMAZING shot! Watch their turtle frog video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5EdPx...
Thanks for learning with us! Stay tuned for next week to see another featured frog!
