No hate to Cavill, he tried. The issue is that Superman is just wrong in this movie. Superman is not a Jesus figure. He doesn't sit there and do NOTHING when an explosion goes off. He doesn't stare down at people reaching out for help. He doesn't refuse to save his own father when he could. He cares so deeply about humanity he saves EVERYONE. A single death is a failure for Superman. And yet Snyderverse seems to only care about Lois. The hate is because he is simply NOT Superman.

I really loved him as Superman but hate how he was handled. He didn’t embody the hope as superman should, killed him off in the second film and in justice league only came for the last few minutes his appearance in zsjl was even lesser. And after his cameo in black Adam was for nothing but still a solid cast

Man of steel is good people seem to forget in this movie he just discovered his origins and it’s his first day on the job as Superman and not against some fodder but against Zod and his crew one of his strongest foes who got the same powers as him so he couldn’t always control the fight save everyone and minimized damage and they weren’t dbz villains looking for a challenge where he can ask them to fight somewhere else lol

It is Comic accurate . He's just a Lois death to become Injustice superman

The only real issue I have with this superman is his character development. I don't hate man of steel or henry cavil, but he doesn't feel like superman until later in the dceu. Also I know him killing zod is quite controversial because superman wouldn't kill and he had no choice, but he could've just flown off with him or cover his eyes or something point is he had some options. Another thing I don't like is how they treat him as a God not as a beacon of hope. Superman is supposed to be the embodiment of hope and optimism and I know this makes him boring to most people but it's simple and easy to follow. Don't hate on me for this take it's just how I view the movie: good movie, amazing superman actor, but the character could've been done better.

I don't hate man of steel but it does enough things right that I care enough to be bothered by the things I disagree with concerning the film's portrayal of the character. I don't think it completely sucks but I liked the new one a good amount better even if I think they have a similar amount of flaws

I mean, I was never a big fan of Snyder's movies. The only ones I really liked were Ga'Hoole and 300. But the guy himself seems honestly pretty chill. He and Gunn do seem to be on friendly terms and Snyder left his DC tenure with some real dignity and grace. He never sicced his fans on Gunn, they did that themselves and it's honestly kinda a shame that these people are now a part of Snyder's legacy

The thing is most of the famous series and movies or any content of fiction have one of the worst fandoms Snyder fans hate on james gunn's superman and vice versa and main problem is that both sides don't realise that they are hating on each other for the same thing and still both sides think they are right HYPOCRITE BEHAVIOUR In the end i don't like Snyder's superman that much but still hating on it is useless

MOS was fine as a sort of spin-off, alternate take on superman.

I don’t like using this word but I do cringe when people say he’s not comic accurate.. over 75 years of Superman and you think Superman never had a phase where he was a little darker? Kingdom come Superman was basically like that and with the neck snapping .. I’ll say it in canon Superman’s words…” he doesn’t have a no kill rule he just doesn’t generally kill someone “ Henry cavil wouldve been the best Superman since our GOAT Christopher Reeves my biggest issue with the dceu is that they was trying to keep pace with marvel they should’ve took their time and built up each character (dont do the Batman v Superman arc)

It was a great film. The DCEU wanted to be this more grounded universe and not the colorfull MCU . What came next was pretty bad but as a stand-alone is one of the best superhero films.

No hate for Cavil he did great with the material he had and he had the look down. Problem is that he didn't play Superman. And don't even get me started with fake Pa Kent played by Kevin Costner

I may like the new one more but I can’t ever bring myself to hate MOS(it’s diehard fans though that’s another story). Is it flawed? Yes(Clark is arguably responsible for most of the damage done to smallville due to not trying to take these fights anywhere and somehow hitting Zod’s minions into the most likely to be populated areas 😅). Is it dumb fun? Absolutely. Still like the Superman vs Zod fight and its music

Snyder may not be a great director but still his camera work looks cool.

I still don't understand why people hate henry Cavill or Zack Snyder for man of steel
Yeah the Synder fans are brain-dead but other than that there is really no reason for people to hate him
First of all Synder didn't wrote man of steel ( it was written by David s goyer and Christopher Nolan ) Synder only directed the movie and the cinematography was actually great tbh
And regarding the superman portrayal yeah it's not comic accurate it's just a different take on his character also it's not really that hard to make a comic accurate superman the Only reason they made Superman different in mos cuz of people wanted to see something new.
