Saw this video that talks about how the video game industry is dying due to triple A companies being woke and how most indie games are being copycats. I mainly wanna talk about the indie stuff because it got me thinking. The video I saw mentions how in the 2000's games like half life revolutionized fps games with story telling, metal gear solid revolutionized 3d games with stealth, you get the idea. But that was all in the 2000's when stuff like that was new. In the modern era, what genre hasnt been revolutionized? Or capitalized? Any game you make these days, you will be compared by another game like if you were to make an RPG with cartoon elements, people will be like "Ouh it looks like undertale if (insert similar game mechanic)." and you cant make a stealth game these days without some chud saying "oh they copied metal gear solid" like what games can be even made these days?
