Trump’s approval rating is pretty abysmal right now — 55% disapprove, according to the latest YouGov poll.

BUT here’s the interesting part: while adults overall disapprove of him, he actually appears to poll better among registered and likely voters, the people who actually show up and decide elections.

And that contrast matters.

It’s easy to think the walls are closing in politically, people saying that cracks are showing in his congressional coalition amid his fight with Elon Musk, but those top-line disapproval numbers might be more of a mirage than a true threat to his base.

Time will tell, we'll see, and in the meantime let me know your thoughts!

@Andreamom001

People who approve of him are not hearing the same news we are. They think he is a brave hero standing between the people and a myriad of threats. He is a good man doing his best to help us and keep us safe. They don’t believe the truth when they are told.

@adamswords4409

The fact his approval rating is that high despite all he’s done is just further evidence America is completely cooked.

The 77 million Americans that voted for him are behind him. 55% of the Liberals hate him. But they also hate our nation, so they don't matter AT ALL

@Andy_Tx

I’d argue that it seems surprisingly high considering the absolute mess of a presidency it’s been

I'm so tired of people saying the disapprove of what he's doing and NOT going out to vote. It pisses me off and if they are so bothered with polling, then why aren't they doing the same effort for actual voting!!

CNN is reporting his approval on immigration is way up

The idiots who don’t vote condemn us all to be ruled by dictators.

There is nothing that can be done to turn the MAGA base against Trump. He can hire a ranking Cartel member to his cabinet and they would justify it somehow and "approve" it

@shelby6

It's crazy how in 2025 there are still individuals who choose not to vote, if you dislike both parties then choose the lesser evil, it's that simple

@JustASmallTownGirl85

Every MAGA I know is still saying, "Good this is what I voted for!" It’s a cult. They've learned nothing

@BimJewt

Wasn't his approval rating lower than this when he was voted in in 2016? I'm actually harrowed and disturbed by the fact that he's still hovering around 45% among the general populace -- how blind are these people?

@mlomeli1994

The progressive wing capitulated when 90million voters decided to stay home on election day.

@MattMusky

There's also an inherent bias caused by the electoral college. A lot of those nonvoters could already be in a blue state or just not in a swing state, meaning their vote wouldn't have any impact

@defur45

that any American would still support such evil and lawlessness, let alone a third of the country, is proof that America is dead.

@vitrous2

Those numbers are no where near his all time lows. Even compared to Biden, his pool numbers are actually very strong. Crazy considering that’s happening right now, but just goes to show the silent majority is still a real thing.

One thing this presidency has taught me is that middle America is literally a world a part from reality.

Why not be happy about a recession or the crashed economy after Trump family has doubled their family wealth in 100 days?! The largest single tax hike in history to pay for rich tax cuts?

@Stopreadingthisname

Bro what's crazier is 45% legitimately think Trump is good

@Andy-i3i

That’s it? That seems unreasonably high for an approval rate.
