I’d vote further in the future if I could lol. I never expected mass popularity, increased development funding, and vastly larger development team sizes to lead to waiting 10x as long for new entries. We used to get regularly released titles in tons of franchises that launched complete, and full of features developed by 5 guys in a garage with a 90’s machine running Windows XP. Now we have half billion dollar budget games launching after 10 years with no content and what little content there is doesn’t function.

They recently stated 5+ years away. 2028 is the earliest we'd get it unless Bethesda cuts corners or pulls in extreme overtime. Honestly it wouldn't even surprise me if it was 2029 or 2030.

I appreciate not putting our annual poor quality installments and wanting something to be good, but at a certain point I do want developers to take my finite lifespan into account. I was 22 when Skyrim came out and, at this rate, I’ll be in the ballpark of 40 before the next one 😆

I remember being bummed in 2015 that there was still no ES6 and now it's been this long. I would have voted never.

I was in middle school when Skyrim came out, and now I'm about to start my second year of teaching. It's been far too long already, and it's going to continue to be that way it seems.

Isn't it cool how we've prioritised shiny graphics over getting good games out in a reasonable time frame. So cool

I love how half of us collectively chose the later date because we know it's not gonna release any sooner

If there was a "even further beyond" option I would've voted for it bethesda seems to not care about the single player ES fanbase considering they have the cash cow that is ESO now kinda reminds me of Rockstar with how they've been since the release of gta online.

Long after my death. Which is too bad because Elder Scrolls is what really got me super interested in computer games. I still remembering being snowed in from university having my character walking through the snow in Daggerfall trying to find my way back to town. Snowception. Good times. Now a days no one really gets snowed in any more with remote work and there is no getting lost in a forest in a videogame.

ES6 will enter production this Autumn so my optimistic guess will be 2027, but my realistic guess is 2029. Todd Howard confirmed in an interview with IGN that they develop games differently now. They are focusing on making games that will get supported for decades. Todd also hinted ES6 might be the last Elder Scrolls he makes before retiring. So not only is ES6 far away, but it might be the last... for a very long time at least, and Fallout 5 is most likely not directly after ES6 so rip them too

Honestly if it's a masterpiece it's worth waiting even a decade more for. They have a lot of expectations to meet and Bethesda can do that given enough time

2030 feels like the biggest possibility honestly, but I guess that really depends on how much work they’ve put into it behind the scenes. Starfield was playable in 2018 and 5 years later we’re getting a release. I doubt they have a playable Elderscrolls 6 at this point. Most likely just ideas being put together for development.

With all the money they presumable have access too via Microsoft, I would hope it’s possible for Zenimax to have a team working on Elder Scrolls, a team on Fallout, a team on Starfield, etc.

Do you mean TES V Skyrim: the special special anniversary anniversary edition

Considering they said that there's so little of the game at this point to even think about a release window I voted 2028, somewhere between that and 2030.

Between 2026-2030. Realistically, I don't think we will ever get one. They're going to keep holding it above our heads and then "surprise" us with what /should/ be ESVI, but say it's a start to a new series in the same realm.

When do you think the Elder Scrolls VI will be released?
