Languages, proper pronunciation. I think this part is more linked to the structure and position of our muscles.

I have always used a filing cabinet metaphor for retrieving most individual words. Someone asked, what is the dinosaur that flies? It didn’t come to me right away so I said give me a minute. In the background my brain found the folder. I said pterodactyl, only now pterosaur. I think declaring filing cabinet as deficient for remembering is like making a blanket statement, rarely true. Our society is built on true false, on off, black white, etc but life is lived in greyscale. It isn’t either or. It’s a continuum.

Far too many people believe memory works like a filing cabinet.
For years, it was popular for memory gurus to teach that you should “store” a fact in a folder and then later "pull” it out.
Uhhmmmm... no.
That’s not how your brain works.
And if you treat it that way, studying will always feel like a losing battle.
In "Magnetic" reality...
Your brain is wired to remember locations, journeys, and experiences—not isolated data.
That’s why the Memory Palace technique still beats every study “hack” out there.
It’s not about storage…
It’s about recall on demand.

Question for you while we're here...
If you could load one subject or skill into your brain’s “secret hard drive” overnight, what would it be?
