I think it was Eisenhower that said something along the lines of "Plans are useless, but planning is indispensable", which I think there is a lot of truth to. I think he meant "In war", but it applies to life in general imo. Just like the other quote by Von Moltke "A plan never survives first contact with the enemy", also about war, but it applies to life in general as well, we will all have "enemies" wether they are people, struggles, or just the unexpected. While these enemies may disrupt our plans, it's important to be flexible, and keep moving in the right direction, even if the finer points of our plan might have to change on the fly, the important thing is to be cognizant of our changing goals, changing circumstances, and adjust our plan accordingly.

Having something to look forward to in a world that has little to offer and gets worse by the day, is something I can no longer live without. I plan on going back to college to get a degree, then moving to the other side of the world.

Do I look like a guy with a plan? You know what I am? I'm a dog chasing cars. I wouldn't know what to do with one if I caught it.

Make the plan, execute the plan, expect the plan to go off the rails. Throw away the plan.
