I lost my mother to breast cancer last year, too. It's hard, but we have to carry on. Neither one of our mothers would want us to be depressed, they would want us to live our lives happy. We may doubt ourselves and wonder if we have the strength to carry on, but at the end of the day, we find that we can, because a mother's love is what pushes us forward.

lost a close family member 5 years ago, still having a really hard time with that. i bet your mom is looking down at you smiling right now. proud of the amazing dude you’ve become, seeing you keep going even though she may not be there anymore. bringing smiles to young railfans like myself and historians alike, i think she’d be happy for you. :D

As a railfanner and as a man, I know what it is like to lose my mom to cancer. Two things, (1) There is an entire community willing to help you (2) Hang in there. Your mom will be proud of you in heaven if you continue to persevere (we are here for you).
