HERD Elephant Orphanage South Africa

No elephant should grow up alone 🌿

What Khanyisa found was more than care; it was family. Among those who welcomed her into the herd with unwavering love is Lundi. Not only did Lundi help Tokwe, the matriarch, with motherly duties, but she also embraced Khanyisa as her own. In 2020, when Khanyisa arrived fragile and scared, it was Lundi who stood by her side, guiding her through early recovery, standing with her for all her "firsts" and comforting her with soft rumbles.

Join us in shaping Khanyisa’s future. Every donation makes a difference.

When I first saw khanyisa I didn't think she would make it but what a brilliant team adine and all the carers proved to be for this little elephant the sleepless nights and hard work this brilliant team gave her the dedication was second to none but looks at her now a young beautiful lady you should all be very very proud of yourselves god bless you all πŸ™πŸ‘πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ

God knew what HE was doing when HE brought brought Khanysia to HERD and Lundi and Tokwe into Khanysia’s life to love and care for her. Also human mommy Adine as well.πŸ™πŸ₯°β€οΈπŸ˜πŸ’ͺ🏻πŸ’ͺ🏻. With the rescue love medical care food and the moment of putting Khanysia in the HERD family has given her the strength courage and the want to live as well. She most definitely is one very happy free spirited elephant and even definitely has a mind of her own too where she will no doubt go in her own direction but would come back when she was rowdy or someone or another elephant would have to go find her. Thanks again HERD Lundi and Tokwe too for caring for our sweet Khanysia. She definitely has been living her best life. God bless and love to you all and hope your day has been good too. Sue M. Lundi-liefling is a gem of a Mum! I remember the very first day Meisiekind was introduced to Lundi. And every day after that the journey began. I remember literally sobbing on that day because I was so very happy for Khanyisa to have found her adoptive mother. Something told me on that day that our beloved Khanyisa was destined for greatness and to date we have not been disappointed. She has really grown into a beautiful elephant toddler, who has made it to the silver screen in that wonderful film and now a book. And I believe in my heart that Khanyisa herself is very aware of the powerful charisma she possesses!
