Ive seen two happen simultaneously 15 years ago in England at night both next to the moon. One to its 3 oclock ish and another to its 5 oclock ish. Two small spots in the sky grew larger and larger until it began to shrink and faded to nothing. Id imagine it to be rare considering how far apart they must of been to one another. Ill never forget this jaw dropping moment, mesmerising.
