Hey friends, I unfortunately have some very sad news.
My wonderful little familiar and executive producer, Tiger, passed away around the end of June after nearly 17 years of love and companionship <3
I’m sorry I didn’t let you all know earlier, but I wanted some time to mourn privately before sharing this with my audience because it definitely hit me hard. It wasn’t a total surprise thankfully, I knew her health was declining due to old age and some liver problems, and I got much longer with her than the vet estimated when she had a pretty bad health scare back in January. The cat distribution system brought me my little furbaby in a parking lot when I was only 10 years old, and I developed a very deep bond with her over the years. It’s been so weird not having her around as I work on projects and go about my day, but I also count myself extraordinarily lucky for the time I got with her. I was home schooled for most of my early education, I attended college during the pandemic so my classes were mostly online, and now I work from home, so I got to spend about as much time with my girl someone can spend with a pet, and I’m very very thankful for that.
I deeply miss Tiger and I know the channel won’t feel the same without her inspecting my projects and knocking things off shelves, but I feel like she really lives on in the legacy of my silly art channel.
I’m planning on doing a memorial video and project for her as soon as I’m able to talk about her on camera without crying lol Her passing caused my brother and I to go through some old family VHS tapes from when we were kids to digitize the footage, and there’s SO much more Tiger footage on there than I remember recording. We’re talking hours and hours of two home-schooled dorks on summer break with nothing better to do than record their diva cat. I’d love to share some of that footage with y’all in the memorial video. It’s so funny to me that Tiger was destined to be a YouTube cat from the day we adopted her (10 year old Kira was a diva too, oh boy).
Again, not sure when that video will come out, but hopefully by the end of the year. For now, go love on your pets and human loved ones. Give your friends and family a hug, tell them you appreciate them. Give your furbabies boops, cuddles, and extra treats. They deserve It <3
I also included some famous Tiger photos for your viewing pleasure 💖
For context:
Photo 1: Just hanging out on the porch looking absolutely adorable
Photo 2: We’re judging you
Photo 3: Beware of cat ft. a little tongue blep
Photo 4: A VERY early Tiger photoshoot (I was probably 11) where we sat her in front of one of my grandmother’s paintings
Photo 5: 10 yr old Kira and a freshly adopted baby Tiger (she did not love being man handled but she tolerated it from me and me only)
