The Silksong Tracks seem to be reinvigorating the channel - it's still early days, but if this keeps up the channel will be back at pre-TotK levels views-wise which would be very welcome for my motivation * :P . In any case it's been super inspiring working on these and I'm glad y'all are enjoying them!
Bonus nonsense poll!
* 2020-2023, views wise, was the golden age of this channel, averaging 5000 views per day. Age of Calamity + Animal Crossing, along with Zelda Musical Speculation and mopping up some BotW tracks. It gave me the inspiration to start working on Open Air and Hyrule Highlands, both of which have become near and dear to my heart, and has been the prime way for me to find clients as a composer!
When TotK released, for some reason the views count declined sharply to half about that. Maybe the pre-release hype had been fuelling my channel for all those years, maybe COVID was responsible for that three-year bump, or maybe TotK didn't have as much music that people clicked with. Nothing I did - streaming, more Zelda, less Zelda, Celtic, Orchestral, shorts - did much to alleviate that beyond short bursts of views which died down quickly.
My Patrons and regular listeners definitely helped in keeping my channel alive, but now finally getting some tiny (if perhaps shortlived) success again does feel nice. It inspires me to work on arrangements more regularly, and with how great the Silksong tracks are and suit my style it's a great combination of what I'd *like* to do with what connects with my listeners and YouTube as a whole. So thank you for being here, and thank you for coming to my TED Talk!
