About To Eat

New video tomorrow where Andrew cooks a lot of one ingredient. And some familiar faces will be joining this time! 👀 Any guesses as to what ingredient we'll be using?

If it's rice, there's a TON of things you can do with it.

Ooo sesame seeds! A really versetile ingredient, I must say. They work well in both sweet and savoury dishes, and are most affordable when bought in bulk! I usually use white sesame seeds in savoury dishes because they add a bit of sweetness, while adding a nice crunch, and found black sesame seeds working best in sweets because of the slight bitterness from it's outer toasted layer (they're also often ground up before being used in desserts, if I recall correctly). I'm guessing the dish in this photo is a pan-fried glutinous rice cake, patterned with dough thay had been saved to be combined with black sesame powder or paste, and was covered with toasted white sesame seeds before frying? Not sure what it is exactly, but it looks delicious nonetheless! Can't wait for the next video!!
