Really love all four, really depends on my mood at the time of the "get away". 😊

My most relaxing vacation has been hearing waves on an ocean beach and soaking up the sun. I would start my morning with a cup of coffee looking out at the beach. Followed by a walk. Later, sitting on the beach with a book and occasionally going into the water. The sounds of birds and ocean with a nice breeze. Mountains would be a close second going for a hike surrounded by the smell of a pine forest.

Doing absolutely nothing at the beach but listening to the waves , sleeping & snorkeling.

Go to the West Coast, and you can have them all in one spot.

For me I find it's less about the type of place than it is about being able to move about freely. It's why I love hiking so much, seeing nature in constant motion.

They all sound great! Would love to start out on a mountain, then wilderness camp my way to the lake, then wander on for a few more days and somehow find my way to the secluded beach. 😊

These bones are too old for tent camping anymore, so I'll go for a lake cabin in the woods. The forest shade is a natural air conditioner and the trees make so much oxygen breathing is just nicer in the summertime.

When I had my last truck, I would go camping in the desert for a weekend several times a year (I usually avoided June to early September). I would sleep in the back of my truck. I had a 4x4 and would go down a wash that only 4x4s could get down. I would go to Anza-Borrego State Park in San Diego County. I sold my truck in 2022 and have been riding my bicycle as my main mode of transportation since then. So I haven't camped in Anza-Borrego since then.

Hard to go wrong with any of these, but we did the mountain cabin trip a few years ago near Denali NP. I’d have to say that was the coolest getaway I’ve ever taken.

Kind of depends on the season: Spring lake, summer beach, autumn mountain, winter home

Geography King
Not specifically these scenarios in the images, but which of these types of places would you prefer for a week of "getting away from it all" (minus the horror movie cliches)
