Mugiwara Cosplay

After posting the price breakdown video, a lot of people seem to misunderstand how the hourly wage works or just post hate (mainly on Tiktok and Facebook). It's a freelancer wage, it's different from a normal job wage. We don't have an employer, we do all the paperwork ourselves that your employer does for you, which are taxes, fees, insurances, pension, business expenses. After all that I have like 40% left, I don't keep those €60/h for myself.
Also I live in Germany, taxes and expenses are higher than e.g. the US, and so are the wages. Average freelancer wage here actually is €102/h, so mine is not that high.
And if you overall complain about the fursuit price, keep in mind that bigger makers charge way more than me. My prices are only in the middle. Also not too long a custom fursuit slot got sold for over 60k USD in an auction.
I hope this clears some misunderstanding.

@3m.misiek

Some people also don't count the time to get experience and learn, gain skill to make good quality fursuits before even making commissions. Your fursuits are amazing.

People really don't know what "hand-made" even means

These people saying you’re overpricing your work need to go learn how the real world works. Your work is amazing and if I weren’t stuck paying college tuition I’d be commissioning you instead when it’s next possible because your work is amazing. I’m honestly surprised you only charge €60/hr for your work, it’s such high quality and so amazing!

Makes sense to me. As a fledgling engineer, I make $33 (30 Euros) an hour. However, we charge clients $100 (92 Euros) an hour. All that difference is called Overhead. Building rent, program rental, health benefits, 401k, and a bit of profit is encompassed in there. Fursuit making is no different, and as you said, you're your own boss, you have to organize all your own overhead. Seems fair to me. It's an expensive hobby if you don't make it your self.

For your quality of work, skill and turn around time I think that price is very reasonable. Also, you have a very renowned brand that I feel makes the suit worth more. Thank you for the tutorials and patterns!

They’re just mad because they can’t have what you have. Hahahahh let them squirm. You put out tutorials and patterns that have helped me greatly. These people don’t have anything on you. Ignore them and block lol

@AKA253

what people don't realize is they can always buy somewhere else. you're an artist and you control your prices. there are a few artists that i personally think charge too high for their suits, so what do i do about it? not buy their suits. they will still get clients that appreciate their work and i will still find artists that i enjoy working with. people are way too focused on everything being the way they want it.

I put around 2/3 MONTHS into my first fursuit head. All the materials were so much, and it did kinda suck making it. I got giant blisters from cutting duct tape and foam. People are lazy, and cheap. The people saying to under price that beauty are examples of those cheap, lazy people. Don’t listen to them. I feel like you could easily go 10k and someone would still buy. Keep it up! I understand. I live in Canada, same thing here. CRAZY inflation, and taxes, fees, insurances, pension, and business expenses. It’s crazy! Thank you for your hard work, and again, keep it up!

@Changingtesting

Been loving your work for quite a while, can’t believe you’re working half the average rate. I’m glad you’re standing firm about your pricing. You have a life to maintain and the quality of your work comes with the price. If they are not satisfied they can move to more affordable alternatives. The price set on the commission is not only for the work done, but to respect and or honor the amount of time/effort/passion/love put into each commission.

There's an easy thumb of rule when it comes to handmade items "if you question the price you can't afford it anyways" Sure you can complain but that does not change the fact that a) good fursuits require expertise, time and experience And b) they are a LUXURY item not a necessity I couldn't afford one when I started. I took the time to make my own. I made 6 so far and the number is growing. Making fursuits its not easy and I started when there were little to none tutorials online in my language and my english sucked. I had so many failed and abandoned projects properly three times the suits I finished successfully and I am still learning. And yes I used your patterns too To this day your hooves/feet pattern and handpaw patterns are my all time favourites to use! Your work is great, those people are idiots.

The people that comment "oh you're too expensive you should be charging X" weren't going to buy in the first place. Your work is fantastic. Its unfortunate people dont take into consideration the value of art isnt a minimum wage job because its not an entry level job, Keep it up 💜

@Blade51

Pay 👏 your 👏 artists! 👏 All these haters should try making a fursuit themselves to see just how difficult it is so they can learn to appreciate the work and effort goes into these amazing suits. I hope the haters don't get to you too much keep doing the amazing work your doing at the prices that are fair compensation for your time so that you can live and thrive not just barely scrap by to surv

That price is very fair honestly, I've seen people charge 8k for partials and 50k just for a full suit in an auction lmao

@Aros1997

This is pretty fair… I can only hope that an easier character to make is on the lower price end lol

To be honest, that kind of price is not bad. The people complaining about the high pricing are just idiots. They just want the fursuit so badly. Keep doing what you gotta do bean :3 I love the gummigoo suit tho, is cute :3

Some people dont know how much art costs, i can see them going to the mona lisa or any painting by a italian painter from the renaissance and saying “wow that must have took a lot of time and money, thats why its so expensive” but yet they will hate on you for spending the same amount of time on nearly the same sort of art.

Dafuq is wrong with the people? I literally made my own skull dog mask and (took me 1 month to make) and I can agree with the fact that it requires lots of time, money and patience. I can’t believe they’re saying that your work isn’t that hard
