F8 for that sense of place for sure. Wide apertures sometimes make images look ai generated or over-photoshopped, like there was a green screen.

I would argue that the way the picture is composed gives the advantage to F8. The picture is composed to give a good amount of consideration to the background. So F8 works better because the background has more detail.

Like most said, f/8 because it gives context. If the camera were further away, then the wider aperture may have been better

f8 is much better when you have a background like that. But maybe there's a good middle ground like f4 or f5.6?

Both are nice but I like the 1.4 the best. Beautiful creamy smooth shallow depth of field bokeh background.
