Another survey! The last one was sort of a trick question. I know most people like both, and if I made that an option it would get probably 95% of the vote. I was interested to see what you would choose if you had to just pick one. Now which do you prefer?

I love both - on other people. I do feel, unfortunately, that cottage core just does not suit me at all, though. With bob length hair, a fairly straight figure and an either 'true' or 'deep' winter color palette, neither the cut nor colors of that esthetic work for me. With Dark Academia, browns and greens are popular, but not a must - I can stick to black/charcoal/white as base colors and cool jewel colors as contrast.

I am at heart very cottagecore however at work I have to look professional so my work wardrobe is very academia and more straight vintage.

My pinterest started feeding me "green academia" which looks a lot like "mostly academia with a little Cottagecore" and I really like that. I think it's ultimately more "wearable" than straight Cottagecore (aka looks the most like "normal" clothes so it's easier to shop for, easier to style without standing out too much if that's someone's thing)

I like both aesthetics so which ever you plan to make I’ll still be interested in watching your vid ^_^

Academia is more versatile for a lot of circumstances, so just adding a bit more femininity (and a lot of blue!) is better for me than trying to go frilly fluffy on a regular basis.

I think the fact that I work in academia makes me love cottagecore more. Something about spending 8-10 hours working at a university has made me want to be a meadow fairy with nothing to worry about but flowers and chickens in my free time. I have to have professional clothes for work already.

I'm too old to understand the labels, I just do me and my inspiration comes from prehistory to prenylon via a dose of mythology. Meanwhile, I thoroughly enjoy all your output and shall continue to do so whatever.

I like dark academia but like the longer skirts associated with cottagecore

I am a dark autumn and like more severe styling. The year my mother forced frilly roses on my bedroom was a family drama! I cautioned my son against doing same to my granddaughter.

I live for dark A. All the wool, deep colors, and layer. But appreciate cottagecore. However, I feel that I can not wear it, I feel awkward with flounce-being a certain size. I just got a dress dummy and hope to add a Georgian style dress or two, so you never know

I’m more cottagecore in the spring/summer and more academia in the fall/winter

Hi. How are you?..

I think my tastes would probably be described as "cottagecore" from the outside looking in, but in terms of looking at the mainstream applications of either, I find academia far more appealing. That might be a case of my being more critical in an area (cottagecore) whose aesthetics I have considered and had to heavily modify to suit my tastes.... In other words, it is near enough that I regard it far more critically than academia, which I can appreciate more broadly because I have not tried to locate myself in it (and have therefore never rejected specific permutations of it). [Edited for grammatical clarity.]

Context is everything..... are we talking fashion or chickens? Because I'm certain the chickens prefer cottagecore. 😁 I, on the other hand, would prefer you to follow your heart. It's the only way you'll truly be happy with the outcome & I'm happy with whatever you choose

Dress cottagecore, decorate academia!

Definitely more pants and less fluffy dress/skirt so probably on the academia side of things. Even more so since I don’t like puffy sleeves since I’ve got big shoulders to start with.
