Hey y'all. I'm wondering what were the biggest concerns, fears and obstacles for you around starting a business?

Even if you haven't started a business yet and really want to or you're a serial entrepreneur. What are/were those hurdles for you?

I ask because I want to create content that inspires people who have high anxiety, high empathy and a lot of ambition to start a business. If those people own businesses the world is a better place. So I appreciate your insights.

I'll start first. I was so worried about not making enough money to support my family. I wanted so badly to be an entreprenur but the fear of going to $0 was very real for me. That's why I side hustled on top of a full time job. That's why I couldn't leave my job when my side hustle income started to surpass the W2 income. That's why it took me getting fired to go all in on my business. Just a fearful dude who had to figure out how to manage that fear and use it to my advantage. I was lucky to get fired because it didn't give me any other option but to dive into the deep end of entreprenurialsm.

I’m starting a government contracting company and I have the luxury of billing for many of my expenses, like taxes. I’m concerned about how I keep that money separate from my salary and how I treat fringe benefits like vacation, medical, and 401k contributions, which I bill for separately than my salary. It seems like if I don’t manage this, I could run afoul of the IRS.
