While I was always confident that the new fee system would undergo multiple iterations to achieve fairness, it's heartening to witness the impact of a passionate, united community.

In my view, Unity Engine stands as the premier engine, particularly for programmers. Like any extensive software suite, it has its shortcomings, but these are outweighed by its advantages. To those developers who have opted for other engines, I wish you all the best. I hope that my insights into general game design and programming will continue to be of value to you, regardless of the platform you choose.

For those who have decided to stay with Unity - let's get it! 💪

@ItsMeHelel

Agree 1000%! So lucky to have you still giving us awesome Unity tutorials!

@weks

Glad you're sticking around. Seriously one of the most knowledgeable tutors in my opinion. As a software engineer with a lot of experience in C#, I really appreciate the more in depth tutorials and patterns. Let's get it!

@personalgamedevyt9830

Agreed. Really glad to be able to continue to follow your channel.

@embergamedev

Love your channel and your content so I'm staying subbed. But yeah it's more about Unity the company than the engine as the reason I'm leaving. Lost all trust with execs still there and Ironsource is still going to be tracking everything. Unity does this kind of crap too often to expect it not to happen again.

@PixelDough

Completely agree. For me, it is the best game engine as a programmer. For 2d stuff I still love using MonoGame, as I have already for years. I choose what works best for my workflow, and if people are able to have a good workflow that fits their desires elsewhere that's fine too. It's not a personal battle or war or anything, but people do tend to want to make it such, sadly

@Neyavva

If we think, its not about only a runtime fee its all about Millions of amazing tutorials, Lot of assets and asset creators So many ongoing projects Years of experience and trust More about 2d games .Many more they wanted to mess all of those finally i think we should take it as warning with second backup

this "incident" told me to keep my possibilities open. In case they try to screw us again.. This changes will mean less and less unity projects, and unity jobs in the future. Because "the north remembers" sir Taro. :D

@shijinmohammed448

I was worried even you might switch.. I am super glad that that isn't the case. And for people that switched, yes, everything that happened was scummy, but I feel like a lot of us just gave up too easy and switched instantly. What makes unity great is the community not the top brass, if they fuck up, we should unify and combat them as we did to get our engine back on track. Unity is not just theirs, its ours too. And where we are at now is fair. Yes, I would like to see change in leadership too. But I'll stick with Unity even if that doesn't happen just because of how great the engine is.
