The Adventures of Turkey Episode 3: The Shadow Collar
The Frostbark Sentinels stood frozen in reverence. Their glowing eyes flickered as they chanted softly in a language that sounded like wind through pine needles.
Turkey stood in the center of the ancient grove, still radiating from the magical shockwave. The squirrel—slightly singed and still unimpressed—climbed up onto his back.
“So, Chosen One, now what? Do we get snacks or... battle a dark force?”
Before Turkey could answer, a sharp chill swept through the grove. The sky turned a deeper shade of blue, and a strange pressure pushed against the air—like a storm holding its breath.
From beyond the trees, a figure emerged.
A tall, sleek creature padded forward—fur as dark as midnight, eyes glowing like embers, and around its neck… a collar made of obsidian and silver.
“The Shadow Collar,” the squirrel whispered. “It’s real…”
The creature circled Turkey slowly. “So,” it purred, “the pup with the glowing heart arrives at last.”
Turkey narrowed his eyes. “I’m Turkey. And you’re standing on my snow.”
The creature bared its teeth in a grin. “I am Umbros, Warden of the Forgotten. And that magic you carry? It once belonged to me.”
The grove fell silent. Even the snowflakes stopped midair.
Turkey didn’t flinch.
Umbros leaned in. “Give it back… or be hunted.”
With a defiant huff, Turkey planted his paws and said, “Then I guess you’ve never played keep away with a herding dog.”

The squirrel groaned. “We’re gonna die.”
