I was reading early spider-man a few weeks ago and I was amused how Stan just published very scathing letters sometimes in the fan mail, fans straight up saying the art was bad in some of the issues, he always replied in a lighthearted tone, but it would be incredibly surprising to see anything close to that nowadays. Also proof that vocal fanbases have always existed.

I saw it coming. It's been too obvious since Zeb Wells' run that the “fan mail” were fake.

I have always been dubious of the modern Marvel letters pages. They usually seem fake, these definitely are. They should just pull quotes from X or Reddit.

"we will not allow AI." = "Holding the line at 2.99". Policies are easily changed when the company decides to go a different direction.

Nobody who has been reading for 20 years or more, would write letters of encouragement or positivity toward this company or DC. Only offer to meet the entire bullpen outside to beat them.

Well, you might be right. But I can vouch for the first letter on the letter's page, because that one is written by me. First time I wrote to ASM and the first time I got published in an American comic. 😊

Definitely I noticed this shit during Zeb Wells run, some crazy soft ball boot licking "fan mail" that seemed to be used for Nick Lowe to answer nd justify whatever BS they were doing.

Since when do fans get nicknames in the fan mail section? When i was reading, you had to put your name and location, not some gay twitter handle like "cosmic carlos".

They're not even smart enough to print the identical AI "fan" letters in different issues. If that doesn't sum up modern Marvel I don't know what does.

Can things get any worse for The House of Ideas? This is Will Smith level cringe.

Thinking Critical
What are the odds “Cosmic Carlos” and “Tombstone Tyler” are actually Nick Lowe and ChatGPT writing fan mail to each other?
Credit Jim from @WeirdScienceComics for spotting this.
