It's elite defender. The rules are literally working against you so you're already at a disadvantage.

Both are hard for sure, but its scorer man. And this is coming from a life long defender. You need to be actively thinking ahead, reading, reacting, and adapting, all while staying cool enough to have a soft touch. So many details go into scoring

being a great defender is 100% harder than being a great scorer and im genuinely not thinking twice.

Easily scorer. Defense is conditioning, effort, and looking at the scouting report. Hell you can do football drills to be an elite defender in basketball. For scoring you have to score against that type of defense, get to your spots, take the contact, scoring got it

Scoring by far, defense is all effort. Scoring is a matter of talent.

That’s tough man. Both deal with intangibles and IQ. Ig for me it depends on who is scoring or defending

Its defense and its not all that close tbh. Its just more taxing on the body

Another thing is everyone’s training today seems to be about how to score shoot dribble pass dunk even half court shots. But RARELY do I see someone working on defensive slides, how to get around screens, how to play drop defense, hedging and recovering back to your man, rotations etc.

It's harder to be a great defender because of how good defense is nowadays

Defense is more physically taxing to do but scoring takes a lot of like talent and mental clarity

It’s harder to be KNOWN AS A GREAT DEFENDER but naturally it’s harder to be a scorer

In this era being a great defender when you aren’t allowed to defend 😂

Both are difficult but defense really is mostly effort scoring takes a lot of skill finesse and timing

There's way more great defenders than great scorers so it's harder to be a great scorer imo.

KD’s scoring consistency makes him an anomaly When you look at his overall career and see how good he has been for so long. In general… being a great defender is harder especially with all of the rules geared towards generating more offense.

Its harder to defend because scorers have different personalities, tells and can hurt you many ways. And the rules seem to change constantly to the advantage of the offensive player.

To be great at either is extremely hard. But I would say it’s easier to be a good defender just by giving Max effort compared to offensively you either have the skills or you don’t.
