It often feels like you need an art degree to get into scale modeling. Many people think so. I’m an engineer by trade, and I still made my way into the craft. I put together a short piece on what really matters: a trained eye, understanding materials, and confident tool work.
If that resonates, give it a read. Share where you started and what you’re working on right now.

Love your channel🩵! Been following you guys for a long time now. Fellow miniature model Artist here 😎 as well & with my own YouTube channel. No formal engineering or art degree however at 38 years old Ive spent a lifetime drawing, illustrating & sketching so 8 years ago I found miniature modeling & fell in love with it & id say that background in drawing, sketching etc absolutely built a solid foundation even if I didn't realize it. Also Id highly agree that all miniature model artists have to be part engineer part artist in mastering their work even if no formal degree. Also currently I am working on a Cyberpunk styled shadow box miniature 🎉🎉🎉

@pugsabi

Started on the little pre-fab kits. I want to eventually make a big dollhouse for all my nieces(I have 5) to play with but most of them are still too young to play with small objects.
