Fluid intelligence is essentially adaptive learning or the ability to learn fast and effectively, without the learning constraints which usually set in post adulthood due to conditioning, personality, preferences etc. it's also often used interchangeably with neuroplasticity. Developmentally speaking, fluid intelligence is the highest in the early years when humans are like a tabula-rasa, ready to absorb anything. As people grow older, fluid intelligence gets gradually replaced by more crystallized intelligence, which is the knowledge gained from experience, growth and study. Both types of intelligence have their unique strengths, but they usually peak at different stages in life. However, of the 2 types, fluid intelligence is more preferable from an evolutionary and anthropological perspective, as it allows for remaining an efficient life long learner with the ability to pick up skills equally fast regardless of age. Whereas, crystallized intelligence is something everyone inevitably gains through exposure to school, work and culture.

Never peaks because we are always capable of learning more things, by experience and principles. What peaks is computational speed and memory.

NEVER! It’s always there waiting for you to ignite that spark! Neural plasticity is one thing you can keep stimulated! Keep learning, and I don’t mean the learning that happens from adversity. I mean, learn a new craft, new hobby, new skill. Learn a new language. Learn a new culture. Get away from your tiny world and explore other worlds. Learn how to debate EFFECTIVELY without hubris or malice. Learn to discern. Learn to think. Take an ethics course. Challenge your beliefs. There’s a world out there waiting to interact with you.

It is highly related to the health of the frontal lobe, so it varies substantially individually. If you want, it can be 50.

10-20 is the importance of the basics like reading, writing, etc. 21-30 I look at job training such as with trade sets.

Some things one cannot even begin to understand until they have lived at least 40 years.

It peaks after high school for most. Very few people read, and very few have the skills to learn outside of traditional education. & no, doom scrolling on tik tok doesn’t count 🤣

Look at the average age of inmates...that should tell you the truth. Cause it's not when you're young! Young is when YOU THINK you wise

That depends on when you choose to stop learning. In my 40s and still growing mentally.

I think the question asks for neuroplasticity... when the brain become fully developed, though it continues to grow at a slower rate.

I was more intelligent about fluids after spilling milk on my kitchen floor for the first time around 3 years old trying to make a bowl of cereal.

General knowledge peaks probably in 50s or 60s, but fluid intelligence peaks in the early 20s.
