Essentially, the first wicked movie was the first half of the wicked play. This new one is just the second half, and rather than release one really long movie, release two shorter movies a year apart for maximum money farming off white girls. The only reason I know this is because of my mom and sister.

I think its because of the increase of talks about Ariana and Cynthia and how strangely they have been acting around each other and how much they have changed since the beginning of the promos for wicked. I've only lately seen concern for their health and wellbeing and then a day or 2 later seen a larger increase of memes as more concern posts had been made about them. So I think its a combination of concern for them as well as the internet memeing everything that even has a small amount of traction. I've seen people joking in comment sections that they are too scared to make a joke about Ariana just in case Cynthia sees and hunts them down to defend her😭
