Quick little update to let you know I'm still working to educate myself and construct a theory of change for a lot of the work I'm doing here. As I look at the work I want to do, I do see that we might go to 1-2 videos a week and then supplement with a lot of text content either on Instagram, Substack or a personal blog. It'll be a change to how I approach content, tackling a specific topic and then using the various platforms and media to essentially reinforce that key message with a lot of supporting material.

It's a huge change to how I approach my content, which truthfully is currently a lot more like shit-posting than anything with meaningful intent behind it. The shit posting won't go away, and I'll still be trying to squeeze a video every week or two, as I don't think I could ever give up "These are not facts..." especially since there's so much misinformation out there.

If you're interested in joining along on the journey, I highly recommend the Annie E Casey Foundation's resources on theory of change (www.aecf.org/resources/theory-of-change). They've got a great four part guide that includes templates and examples.

Also I completed my mental health first aid training, so massive shout out to ‪@heidithesausage‬ for their donation that paid for the course and certification. The course actually taught me about mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, something I was not previously aware of. It's an area I think could be massively beneficial to a lot of men and so I'll be digging in and learning more about the topic.

@yundorphin

I think we have very different ideas of what shitposting is... (or I guess there's the possibility I've been misunderstanding shitposting this entire time) In any case, I don't think I'd ever associate your content with crap. Don't sell yourself too short. I'll look forward to further updates on how you plan to proceed going forward. :)

I love it when each platform is used for its best features rather than the same content everywhere. It gives a valid reason to follow you on all platforms. However, I understand the difficulty of original content for each platform so do not burn yourself out for this. I get those algorithms prefer daily posts, but as a follower sometimes it is too much. I much prefer quality content, accurate information and the ability to teach something complex.

I will support whatever you do and am very happy for you! You are my number one resource for educating clients and loved ones on misogyny. As a woman who has been affected by misogyny in some of the most horrific ways you can imagine throughout my life and seen it professionally and personally from so many angles, I need you to know that what you currently do is important too, and I don't want you to underestimate it. I can respect and understand that it may not feel as meaningful in its intent to you as I know it's hard to see the true impact you have or be as kind to yourself as you are others, but the effect your content has is incredibly meaningful and I want you to know how grateful I am for what you've done so far, even if it changes drastically. Finding your platform specifically with your particular way of doing things was a massive deal in my life and means a lot to me and many others I'm certain. The way you do things, quickly and digestible with an air of assuredness, common sense and a little humour is the perfect entree to learning about misogyny and how men can better their mental health and reduce harm to themselves and importantly others, mainly women. It's hard to fully put into words here my full articulated thoughts, I would always be happy to elaborate if that were to be helpful ever of course. It's tough because I can't quickly in this comment state enough the impact you've had professionally, nor personally as it would turn into a mini novel and I'm not great at being concise in written form lol., and honestly this is already going to be a bit of a novel. But as a quickish example, I have shown your content to my mum who was a long term DV survivor like myself, and your content saved me in a big way when I went through my own worst experiences with DV. I've shown it to my step dad, and my teenage niece who your quick and easy to digest content means a lot to, many of my clients of all genders and backgrounds, my friends, my partner, and even my in laws... The list goes on. As someone who does a lot of educating on topics like mental health and misogyny and gets looked to for advice a lot on it, you are my go to resource I always provide as a recommendation in addition without question, especially to clients. I often use it as a starter to a concept and watch it with them even and then elaborate and answer questions... it really opens them up and gets them interested, as well as willing to be vulnerable. It's proved often more effective as a starting place than a lot of the more daunting resources within the current system. There's a lot of good stuff of course, but nothing is perfect, and people having a digestible way to learn is incredible. I will absolutely utilise and appreciate whatever work you do, as I also utilise the framework and principles you are branching out into, and you are a great person to do it. I just want you to know there is still a lot of value in what you do and even if you were to fully walk away, I want you to look back and feel proud. You can't always see the good you have done. I'm sure you've done a lot. I know I'm somewhat speaking for other people but I can't fully do that outside of what I've seen and can assume from how it helps me, so I'll speak for just myself now. Your content genuinely helped me when I went through horrible DV. It helped me with my past trauma with gendered violence and discrimination. It helped me feel less scared and more educated when everything with politics was blowing up and still is. You helped me find better language to advocate not just for my clients and loved ones, but for me too. I channeled your bravery and way of communicating when I experienced gendered medical negligence/ possibly intentional discrimination. The list once again really does go on. I apologise for such a long repetitive comment lol, I'm a little sleep deprived haha. I just hope that I could add some helpful food for thought and encouragement about whatever it is you do in the future, because it's all meaningful. ☺️
