Calvinism: making believers doubt their salvation for 500 years

@davidboehmer4359

I'm not a Calvinist. I was raised Lutheran. I believe God wants all men to come to be saved. Yet he knows all men won't. He didn't decide that. But he knows who will and who won't. Yet he gives all a fair chance.

Apparently people need to read the parable of the seeds.

“All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day. For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”” ‭‭John‬ ‭6‬:‭37‬-‭40‬ ‭ I believe that Jesus will perfectly accomplish the fathers will, and all that will truly believe will have eternal life, and he will lose not a single soul! He paid an infinite price to let one of his sheep slip away.

Hebrews 6:4-6 "4For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, 5and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, 6[c]if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame." John 10:27-28 "27My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. 28And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand." A subject i've wrestled with. These two passages would suggest salvation can not be forcefully taken away from an individual, but could be lost if said individual wilfully rejects it.

It's God who gives us the Faith to believe He Is. It's God who sent his Son to die to reconcile us back to Him . It's God who draws us to Christ. It's God who keeps us from falling and it's God who will present us faultless. It's God , it's all God . From start to finish .

I believe in eternal salvation that the lord Jesus Christ gives but I do believe it’s up to us to receive it. Because if we get caught up in doctrines of devils and seducing spirits and choose our idols over the lord Jesus Christ, we deserve to suffer for that because Jesus is the perfect king lord and savior / gift the father gave to the world. That’s a complex answer but it’s very simple. Believe In the lord Jesus Christ and be saved. And do not be fooled you cannot serve two masters. I pray that we all get led by Lords Holy Spirit that we surrender to him today and always. Amen

And to those who overcome, I will not blot out their name from the book of life. So yeah, you can lose your salvation, otherwise what is the point of Satan .

I don't like the word "lose", but I do believe people can forfeit and walk away because there are so many scriptures that talk about IF we abide in Him and IF we remain in Him and if the natural branches were cut off do not think we can't be cut off and to be careful we think we stand lest we fall, and what about the great falling away that is going to take place and what about Paul's and the other disciples warni gs about false doctrines that can shipwreck out faith and so on and so forth? I don't believe that it's something that happens over night and ooops, I lost my salvation...it's something that can happen over a period of time where we can grow dull to the Holy Spirits conviction over time and our hearts can become hardened, we also could get caught up in false doctrines and truly begin to believe them just like the Galatians were in danger of doing...if we love the Lord and keep abiding in Him and watch our doctrine and lives and be in a place of always examining our hearts and work out our salvation with fear and trembling and be aware that no one is above being deceived, we will be kept ....and just to clairify....I'm not talking about any of this as being works for salvation, I'm saying it can be a dangerous doctrine in that if we believe we can never "lose" our salvation no matter what we do...well will we think we can live however we want and still be just fine with the Lord? I've heard of testimonies of people who believed that because it was what they were taught and eventually went back to the world thinking they were completely fine because they were sealed and it didn't matter what they did, or how they lived I'd rather err on the side of caution then find myself in a place of apostasy and separated from our Savior.

JOHN 15 Cleary says you can be cut off so does Romans 11. We must endure chastening in Hebrews 12 so many other SCRIPTURES to hold to sound doctrine

Salvation is always there because Jesus paid the price but we can walk away from it

@Reformed_Borzoi

We have freedom to walk away from salvation (which is foolish to do so). But it is not hidden from God all who are saved,and all who are saved are written in the book of life.

@lightoffaithchristian4382

We can definitely lose our salvation if we walk away from God and live according to our flesh/desires. We must crucify our flesh daily🙏 it’s a narrow road for a reaso

@Seekingchristdaily

The Bible says nobody can snatch the sheep out of the Fathers hand, but it does not say you can’t walk away from the faith on your own.

you've been SAVED not picked up and thrown out and picked up and thrown out...SAVED and thank the Lord for that...one cannot be un-SAVED...saved would infer being PROTECTED FROM being captured away
