It’s amazing how certain heavily armed people have become terrified of their own shadows thanks to the political propaganda they consume that makes them believe that crime is out of control.

Whatever happened to, “I’m sorry ma’am, this is the wrong address, do you need help finding the right house?” I used to be a home health CNA, can’t imagine if I’d been shot for knocking on the wrong door by mistake. I’ve had that happen a few times where someone’s knocked on my door by mistake, every time it’s always been explaining wrong apartment and then almost always giving directions to the right one

A few facts since most people wont bother to read the article. The woman who died was a mother of 4 and recent immigrant from Guatemala (there is no evidence that she immigrated illegally at this time). She was hired to clean model homes in the area and spent about 1 minute trying keys before being shot in the head through the door. The stand your ground law only works if you have reasonable reason to believe that person is a threat. No attempt was made to communicate with the cleaner before she was killed.

Americans are so terrified of everyone and everything. Freedom to eat yourself into an early grave. But no freedom from thinking everyone is out to get you.

Just check his phone and computer. People like this are usually just waiting for an opportunity, which makes this premeditated.

If you're so scared to shoot a random person at your door. Be scared enough to buy a ring camera to check your door.

Ah America, where the appropriate response to anything is either to clap and tip, or to shoot

Manslaughter, for an intentional act that was clearly prepared and hoped for by the shter?!

It should be murder. Nobody shoots a person knocking on their doors and then claims he thought the person is a thief.

On the other hand, if I was scared that ICE might come to my house, I'd open the door whilst armed.

How about don’t go to your door if you are not familiar who’s at the door, call the police, yell through the door to see who it is, like there are so many options to choose other than shoot. How is this manslaughter and not murder… I only agree with this if the person is going to get more time with manslaughter than with 2 or 3rd degree murder. This is sick.

Teach em owning a gun is not like owning a toy. It comes with responsibilities and accountability.
