Yes, You can usually see people in the street wearing t-shirts of the band. Even Tarja is living here, in Argentina 😁

I think its heavily dependant on the genre. Metal or at least branches of metal are not particularly mainstream, so its difficult to say if a band like Nightwish are famous in my country. They are famous in terms of symphonic metal listeners. To your average pop/rock listener perhaps not.

That's not easy to answer. In Germany they only run very rarely on the radio stations. They regularly reach number one in the album charts. There is a difference between public perception and dissemination.

It’s weird because I (UK) have only met 2 people in my life who had heard of them (one of whom introduced me to them) but they sell out Wembley pretty regularly so…. They must have a lot of UK fans SOMEWHERE, I just don’t know where

In my country Nightwish is very well known among the mainsteram rock listeners, but most of them still associate them with Tarja. Floor is not so famous here, which is a shame

Well kinda I think. Maybe not the number one like Iron Maiden, Ghost, Metallica, inflames and sabaton (etc). (I'm from sweden)

Floor finally got a bit famous here in the Netherlands, so I guess people will have heard of Nightwish too by now. But I doubt they will play Nightwish on the radio. Don't listen to the radio, so I don't really know ;)

I don't think they are famous in Canada except the metal scene would know of them maybe. It's never played on mainstream radio here. I am doing my best to spread the word by blasting it in my car with the windows down though!
