I think the following pieces of advice are geared towards people who want to use tarot for strict divination (predictions, knowing someone elses intentions etc.) - and since that's not really how I view/use tarot, it was never hard to shrug them off. But I see these online often enough that I thought they could fit your video :) 1) "Read for accuracy". As in, test yourself by making specific predictions and seeing if they come true, as often as possible. Compare yourself to others by how often you are correct ("my accuracy rate is over 85%!"). I'm guessing that by doing this, you mostly train how to phrase statements juuuust vague enough to be true most of the time, but still specific enough that it'll feel noteworthy when they turn out to be correct. 2) "Don't read for yourself, to avoid bias". This one I sort of understand as a two-person-rule, especially if you're new to engaging with tarot, very anxious about it, or relying on it for objective truth. In those cases, it's probably a good idea to have someone else there, giving you their perspective. But then, how are you learning to sort through thoughts with tarot? And while I don't want to be too cynical, this is awfully convenient if the person giving the advice happens to be a paid reader themselves ... 3) "You need to read with reversals, otherwise you're just lying to yourself and your readings will be overly positive". I think this assumes you're just memorizing keywords, especially from a "gentle" guidebook. Personally, I've found it much more helpful to think of each card in terms of balance, excess and deficiency (can't remember now where I have this specific phrasing from, it may have been your channel actually :D but it fits so well). And I do that anyway, without reversing any cards, which bothers me visually.

Tarot readers! I’m planning a follow-up video to the tarot advice I would avoid, and I want your input!
💬 What’s the worst tarot advice you’ve ever received? Or something that just didn’t work for you, even if everyone seems to swear by it?
Drop your thoughts in the comments below. The weirder, more frustrating, or more common the better. I’ll be sharing your responses and breaking down why this kind of advice can miss the mark - or who it might actually help.
Let’s crowdsource a tarot advice blacklist 😉
