💓 World Heart Day – 20 Years of Cardiac Rehab ❤️ #HealthyHeart
29th September is World Heart Day 💓
A reminder to put your heart health first with small, consistent choices that make a big difference:
✔️ Keep moving – even gentle daily exercise helps your heart stay strong
✔️ Choose balanced meals that nourish your body
✔️ Make time to rest and reduce stress
✔️ Keep up with regular health checks
I am Cardiac Lauren, and I have been teaching cardiac rehabilitation exercise classes for 20 years, and it all started in 2004. Whilst on a gym shift, I was approached by two ladies who asked me to help them continue their recovery post-cardiac surgery. The two ladies made such good progress that they returned to their lives even fitter than pre-surgery. This sparked my interest in Cardiac Rehabilitation, and I decided to become qualified in this discipline.
The rest is history, and I now teach six face-to-face classes in Surrey, and have an online subscription programme available to anyone to do a variety of exercise themes & intensities 24/7, as they are all pre-recorded. This means my members can do a class whenever it suits them to fit in with their busy lives, and we have a thriving WhatsApp community that supports each other whenever they need it.
My members inspire me every day with their effort and determination to return to what they could do before, and more! I love my job and am so grateful for those two ladies who helped me find cardiac rehab so I can continue to guide many more people in the future.
