Tele for sure. Saw Matty Mullins of Memphis Mayfire using one so I’d love to have one haha

Telefunken 251! I owned the Slate VMS mic modeling system and really liked the way the 251 emulation sounded in my voice & in the mix. However, the Sony 800G emulation was neck and neck with it.

Listening to my favorite artists I would go for the U87. The vocals mesh perfectly within the music and don’t sound over processed.

The Sony because it's the best for lyrical rap vocals. Crisp clean sound that sits great in any mix. Probably don't even need to eq. At 13,000+ you better not need processing

Telefunken 251. So smooth and mix ready. Only the U47 comes close in my opinion. The most affordable option that gets closest is the TLM 49!

I own a UA Sphere DLX and would probably pick that mic over every one listed since I can model all those listed plus many, many more POST RECORDING. Modeling mics are the future.

Happy to have a mint condition U87ai made in 1988 with original cardboard box and papers! Figured I'd skip all the clones and 'wannabes' & go straight for the real thing!

If you could have one of these high-end VOCAL MICS, which do you pick and why?
