Feels like nitpicking. Doctor Who has always been behind in regards to CG/green screen quality, but they've made leaps and bounds this season thus far, no doubt in part to the Disney money. At this point it looks better than some movies, Marvel included. Not to mention we've already had better episodes than the past 5 years so let's just enjoy the ride until they do something to make it subpar again.

The green screen quality didn't occur to me once. I mean I could tell it was, but that's it it looked fine to me

@HellfireComms

The corridor shots were noticeable, but the rest was great imo. Good set work too.

@AlexsTheWizard

Episode looks 100x better than 90% of DW CG over the years.

@fleetingsydney

Am I the only one who didn't think the green screen was as bad as everyone says? Maybe I just have low standards for doctor who lmao

Complaining about bad CGI in Doctor Who is like yelling at the sky for being blue. It's like a universal constant that Doctor Who should have wonky CGI.

@aggressivelybritish

I honestly don't get the complaints about the green screen. It looks perfectly fine.

In my opinion the set design makes up for the mid cgi. The details put into the ship were really unique and interesting.

At least you have Green Screen, unlike Youtubers like Harbo who just record their whole room ( Harbo slander in HMM channel HA HA! )

The biggest problem with overusing CGI is that the episode won’t age well. I watched the hunger games again recently and you can see the CG

@Rik77

If anyone only watches DW for the special effects then they've not been paying attention much.

It was a fun, albeit silly episode But the shots of the captain were beautiful

@Sir_Gerald_Nosehairs.

The green screen was less an issue than the direction. It felt like someone was told about The Thing and copied it, without ever seeing the movie or ever watching a horror flick. It also had the same issue as the Davison story Warriors of the Deep it was far too bright and not the right atmosphere.

You look like the dude I used to get absolutely wankered with who's now a University teacher

@Electrobadgr

The wonky green screen was far from the biggest problem with the episode; the cynical race swapping of Sir Isaac Newton and the whole Doctor is now gay thing are higher up the list
