Now that SEMA has come to an end and we are back to regular programming, I wanted to share a highlight of the trip. If you don't know this man he's Mike Hall of Rust Valley Restorers. He's actually the man responsible for us starting the Nova project when we did. I always wanted a muscle car and was planning to restore one when I turn 40 but instead we started at 35. Never imagined id be filming a show, restoring a car and having the young boys. Life is insane but I wouldn't have it any other way. Mike inspired the average man that a project can come to life... he certainly did for me. Average day on the nova is 7-8 hours work, 3-4 hours edit videos. Also Mike you owe me like 25 pairs of jeans and half a dozen shoes the Nova project is hard on the clothing lol!

Probably the best tip yet is this: everything wears out when you wash it, so either accept it or invest in gear you plan on washing as little as possible. FR might make sense at that point—it’s thicker and treated with fire-resistant chemicals. But here’s a trick: grab some 20 Mule Team detergent, soak your gear in it, dry it out, and boom. Now you’ve got gear that's more fire-resistant than anything off the shelf. Iv done it to a flees shirt, but chemicals are never good for your skin. So, lether wins🏆

Wow! You met Mike Hall. He's a cool guy. He has some old cars in his collection. I watched when he had a series on TV. You're a lucky guy.

Welding clothes are easy to ruin – I burn through mine all the time. My strategy? Buy cheap stuff. FR welding gear is usually overpriced, so I grab my jeans from Sam's Club for under $12. Go all-cotton – fleece is a fire magnet. You could go with a jumpsuit, but as soon as it starts to fray, it's a fire risk too. Best advice: get cheap clothes you can replace when the holes get too big. Leather gear is also a solid option. A leather jacket and chaps are more durable and last way longer. For shirts, I buy Hanes and go two sizes up since they shrink like crazy. I’ve spent money on more expensive gear, but the reality is, fire always wins. Fire cleanses many a sin – one of my favorite (me), sayings. it's true.
