#TRENDS • 🇬🇭🚨~ “Organizers Who Scheduled Daddy Lumba’s Candlelight Vigil on August 02 Are W!cked” – Lilwin Fumes Over Vigil-Movie Premiere Clash.

Ghanaian actor and filmmaker Kwadwo Nkansah Lilwin has expressed strong disappointment over the decision to hold the Candlelight Vigil for highlife legend Daddy Lumba on Saturday, August 2, 2025, the same day he is set to premiere his highly anticipated film, Captain Ibrahim Traoré: The Last African Hero.

In a recent emotional video, Lilwin lamented that the scheduling of the vigil is a direct blow to him and his work, stating:

“Everyone in Ghana knows that August 2 is the official premiere of my movie. For them to hold such a major vigil on the same day is unfair. It sidelines me completely from paying my respects to a legend I also admire deeply.”

He described the clash as not only inconsiderate but damaging, especially considering the resources invested in the production.

“This movie cost nearly $1 million to produce. How can something like this happen without proper coordination?” he questioned.

Lilwin further called for more thoughtful planning in national events of such importance, emphasizing that honoring legends should be inclusive, not rushed or conflicting.

“I am genuinely shocked. A Candlelight Vigil of this nature should be properly planned with all stakeholders. This isn’t right, and it hurts.” he added.
