Hello everyone, been a while. Life has gotten in the way as it sometimes does, but more content will be uploaded in the near future. Today's post will be a little different.
As I'm sure most of you already know, Akira Toriyama passed away on March 1st. I don't normally post things of this nature, but this man's work helped shape my childhood, as well as millions of others across the world. Dragon Ball, specifically Dragon Ball Z, was such a huge influence on my life from the moment I watched it on Toonami in the 90's. To see it become a cultural & global phenomenon since then, no words can describe it.
Dragon Ball was one of the pioneers of Shonen Anime and is responsible for several works that exist today. It has touched numerous lives and inspired people from different walks of life, from wanting to get into martial arts, to becoming manga artists themselves.
Although it was his claim to fame, Dragon Ball is not the only material Toriyama was known for. He made Dr. Slump, a gag manga featuring the character Arale who had several crossover appearances through out Dragon Ball's history, as well as contributing art & illustrations for the Dragon Quest series and Chrono Trigger.
Rest In Peace, Toriyama-san. Thank you for sharing your talent with the world. Your legacy will live on.
