Despite the tragic lack of armour, I still highly recommend the series 😂

One of my absolute favorite series. They get more than a bit messy at points but are always fascinating.

I'm actually currently revisiting these books for the first time. My first & only read through was approximately 13 years ago. I remember really liking them all, except for 1 (I think book 6). Revisiting them via audio book has been fun. I'm about halfway through book 3 right now.

Read them many years ago. They are definitely... strange, partly because Stephen King wrote them on and off over the course of decades, resulting in a LOT of inconsistencies, plus they are tied to different stand alone books. They are very readable (got through them all in about a week), but they have some questionable writing choices in them and don't always make sense. There are comics that attempt to clear things up by adding backstory but those are definitely retcons, and King infamously wrote some of it while on drugs and booze and didn't understand it himself half the time. But they are certainly worth a read.
