Before that you should ask how secure a mother in law feels within her own self, and also while engaging in and managing different relationships. How secure she feels within as an individual, as a woman, as a daughter, as a wife, as a mother to a son, as a mother in law. If she doesn't feel secure within herself then there's going to be struggle in all the relationships she share as an individual with others according to different power dynamics involved in each relationship. What's inside will manifest outside in relationships in varying degrees.

blessed with a MIL who i adore and who adores me. She has been my biggest supporter despite her unquestionable love for her sons. I am literally her 3rd child ( she has two sons) That’s not so say we never have differences. But the fact is every mother n child have these why highlight the in laws .

Mother in law with having good chemistry with her family specially her DiL is a Myth. She becomes insecure the moment she gives birth to a son. She owns her house which she just can’t imagine to hand over to some unknown lady (DiL of course). My Mother in law is a big follower of ‘angrrezzzz before the freedom’ as she always keeps her mind busy in divide and rule policy.. When I was newly married I got engaged in rubbish arguments with entire in-laws family, but now after 12 years, I became matured and try avoiding faaltu drama but my MiL has set a target to become the most childish lady in the world. She can go up to any extent to keep her two sons closer to her while shouting on and disrespecting her husband day and night.. This two chemicals-MiL & DiL- can never be combined together..

Tweak India
The essential ingredients of a stereotypical mother-in-law? Taane (taunts), unsolicited advice, and the occasional long-suffering sigh. For generations, mothers-in-law have been depicted as the matriarch armed with an authoritarian glare, an obsession with spotless countertops, and the ability to go full Gordon Ramsay over a slightly oval roti.
When we shared an Instagram post featuring the perspectives of Indian daughters-in-law, many Tweak readers were curious to hear from mothers-in-law as well.
To explore their side, we spoke with several mothers about their emotions, how they are navigating the changing dynamics within their families, and what they really want from their daughters-in-law.
