Writing when you KNOW you already have a publishing deal no matter what you put on paper is indeed a very different mentality.

Great book about tidbits of his life and how his mind works, but yeah, in terms of actual writing advice-- he's a different breed of writer and it doesn't work for several people who exist today. I still like the book, still inspiring in a lot of ways. We all aren't Stephen King though, that's like writing advice for himself.

Problem with panster advice there while writing style is subconscious.. subconscious producers are bad teachers ... Because teaching is conveying information consciously Same goes for learning from geniuses.. it just comes to them... So if you ask for explanation on instructions they just essentially tell you they JUST KNOW that's how it is

I'd watch that. The more I don't follow his advice in that book, the better I do!

Lol. This is great. I have to add- I find his novels unreadable. And I’m a person who reads at least one novel a week, if not more. But he does make money.

Dude, sadly enough, Stephen Kings going to loose his great credibility after enough time of being speculated on by todays young people. Basically, even though right now it’s cool to quote stephen king and to agree with his angry writing advice, but it will become cool to say how his rules aren’t correct, very soon. Through movements cultivated by the shifting mindsets of social media users. Right now you’re the first person I’ve seen to discredit Stephen Kings advice but I know that’s going to happen more and more and eventually there will be other popular horror writers and yea. I feel bad for Stephen because of this

King's "On Writing" is still a must read for any aspiring author. I can't remember any advise in there that even be considered harmful. I guess I will wait to see your vid.
