Kirb-Crew

I would have announced this a while ago, or even right after Episode 2 came out in March, but I will do it here now that it actually is going to be Mario’s 40th anniversary on the 13th of this month!

Ever since it came out in 2021 (along with Part 2 coming out in early 2022), I’ve improved my animation style DRAMATICALLY so I wanted to use this current era of my skills and rework Episode 1 of Mario, Sonic and Kirby: Warriors of Chaos a bit, and I’d say it’s certainly an improvement over the original version. It is now uploaded onto my channel here, but will also be posted onto my Newgrounds account soon!

Although, I know you’re all wondering some things about this, and I will answer them here for you.

“What’s different in this remaster of yours?”: Well, quite a lot of stuff, but mainly for the opening credits, end credits, and Part 1; first off, the opening no longer has Hal and Jeff from Bowser’s Kingdom, as even back then, I didn’t know what purpose they would serve other than just a small joke, and knowing the series that they’re even from, that would break my series’ canon and immersion, so they’re nonexistent now and the first scene is much more serious with Galacta Knight and Bandana Waddle Dee, and Scene 2 no longer has Mario and Luigi being invited to Peach’s Castle via an invitation letter as other series have done that trope to death, so they go there and find out about the party in a different way, same for altered and fixed dialogue throughout. Also, my new text boxes are now added, and the dialogue scrolls all the way through. For Part 2, these changes apply to it, too, along with some much needed pacing adjustments for the Kamek and Kammy fight scene, but that’s it for the second half.

“Why also upload it only onto Newgrounds?”: Well, I’ve never uploaded a single episode onto the former website aside from the old opening intros, and if I did upload the original Episode 1 after some of my most recent videos that aren’t MSKWOC related, I know some people would notice the difference in quality and the animation, so to keep it consistent, I’m only uploading the new version on there, and then Episode 2 (which has nothing changed minus some very minor pacing fixes in Scene 10 and 11’s fight scenes; everything else is perfect as is).

“Didn’t Meme Man say in his review of your series to NOT remaster Episode 1?”: Yeah, true, but if he is reading this, let me just say that this remaster (not reboot) didn’t take that long to complete. If anything, only Part 1’s new animation and scrolling text was the most work since my old FLAs from five years ago I no longer have, but I do still have the old Part 2 FLA files from 2022, and I didn’t heavily alter them, so I’d say the whole thing took me only about two to three months to finish, which I’d say is practically nothing compared to my second episode, which took more than a full YEAR to complete. Plus, curiosity got the best of me, so I just wanted to see how different I could make it.

And believe me, this is the first and last time I’m ever touching my old episode like this again, as I’m not pulling a Heroes of the Stars or SMBDX where it constantly keeps getting remake after reboot for just the first episode. Speaking of, I did what Mario & Luigi: The Mask did in your “Curse of Reboots” video and restructure my series and not overwrite it, and I “renovated/redesigned” the floor of this “building” of mine, if you will, as I’m now going to start production on Episode 3 by the end of this year, and only focus on continuations from now on, and whatever feedback I get for my new Episode 1 from Meme Man or anyone else who watches it I’ll just implement to the brand new episodes instead of going back to square one YET AGAIN.

But regardless, I hope you all enjoy the introduction that is my original vision now come to life, and I’m excited to now get to Episode 3 now that this is out of the way.
