My braids aren't typically "tight" but are very uncomfortable to lay on... that's a big difference cornrows in particular are awkward to lay on the first few nights.

I refuse to take painkillers to get my hair done. Being tender headed is real!

🤣🤣 we gotta start speaking up and telling the braiders if it’s too tight before they get done our whole head

Mine takes about 2-3 business days to feel comfortable 😄

The pain means at least 2-3 days of discomfort. Day 4 is bliss tho

That’s why I switched to doing my own. Tired of my edges and thoughts being yanked on. Haven’t had pain since and glory to God, my edges are full and thriving.

I remember a cosmotologist telling me that hair shouldn't be braided so tight all it does is damage a person scalp with soreness, redness and some sometimes lil bumps all which can damage and break a persons hair off.She would braid my hair and style it right without trying to pull my brains out.I never had any braider braid my hair tight or to a point I couldn't sleep( that's ridiculous).Tell your stylist to not braid your hair so tight and if they continue tell them you'll get someone else to braid it.

I once spoke up and told her to please loosen her grip but she kept making it tight. I was in so much pain that half way I told her to stop, I was prepared to go home with a half done head😭 my mom told me to just let her finish as she is almost done. Gosh hours later I could still feel the sensation of her hands gripping my hair I had to take pain killers that night and for a whole week I couldn’t sleep well or smile😭😭😭 Never agai
