Hear God's Word

Shocked, surprised and saddened to read this. Really would not have expected to hear this about someone who has been such a solid preacher of the Word for 5 decades.

"The board of OnePassion Ministries mournfully announces that just recently Steven J. Lawson confessed to the board that he has had an inappropriate relationship with a woman, a sin that has disqualified him from ministry. In response Steve has resigned from all his duties at OnePassion Ministries.

All scheduled events and engagements have been canceled.

Steve has confessed and regrets the damage he has caused to his family, the church, the reputation of OnePassion Ministries and most of all Jesus Christ.

We are saddened for the glory of Christ in this matter. The truth of the gospel will continue go out to the lost world as it is empowered by the Holy Spirit and not by men. It is a reminder that we have been warned of the craftiness of the enemy."

I am sad for this time for the family and Steve. I was involved in ministry and was also trying to leading a compromised life. It was the very worst time in my life for my family. The shame oh the shame. I struggled with forgiveness. The family is so exposed. It is so raw. It's a death to the family. Steve, I have never heard of you but God's word does not return void and I'm sure your work is not lost. I am broken, a most repentant sinner, forgiven who lost it all. I have been alone but God did not forsake me or my family. I found such a genuine relationship with my Lord. Jesus is all I want and need. After 35 years, I'm not able to tell you that everything is restored, it is not.. I'm forgiven but sorrowed every day of my life for dishonoring my Lord and my family. May you find comfort in the Jesus who still cares for you and your family

My gentle but effective suggestion, is for Steve to go to a trustworthy place, or counselor to talk about this, but honestly, if the congregation were true believers in Christ, they would already know that there is automatic forgiveness in Christ Jesus. Confession should have been enough for you people. That's the whole reason that Jesus died on the cross, he was taking on the sins of the world! Read it in your Bible. That's what the Gospel of Jesus Christ is all about! Read John 3:16
