NESTED TUPLETS!!!!! IT'S LIKE THE RYTHMN VERSION OF MICROTONALITY

I love the odd time signature stuff! baobaoshuijiaojiao is my go to track for explaining 7/8 to people; And right next to "Take Five" for demonstrating how odd time signatures can still be mellow and groovy instead of disjointed and anxiety-inducing!

Probably acoustic instruments? It would be really cool to hear something in a sax quartet or something.

Honestly? A more melodic music. You do a lot for harmony, but the melodic part of your recent output feels underprioritized. I feel like microtonality opens up a lot of space for experimentation with melodic storytelling.

I would love to hear a song utilizing the Shepard Tone illusion (an illusion where it sounds like something is continuously rising in pitch), also maybe some odd time signatures and polyrhythms. If you want to try looking into the Risset Beat illusion which utilizes percussion in order to make it sound like the music is either speeding up or slowing down infinitely. I've rarely ever heard music with both shepard tone and risset beat lillusions and I just want to hear what a fully fledged out song would feel like. Also combining it with what you already have done would create some otherworldly music. I also recently learned about polytempo where there are two tempos at once. That might be fun to mess with but I don't know how feasible it would be to actually use it. Edit: I just found out you included a Risset rhythm in your song "Starfish" which means you've probably experimented with a Shepard Tone already.

Always love a catchy upbeat track with mind bending microtonal harmonic movement!

Maybe more bit-type music like rhythm and Xen? I've always been a big fan of it.

I'm biased, but I usually go for Orchestral music with synths in them. I usually go for a key change in my music or just go through a few bridges so and then. I also really wanted to try very water themed music with experimental elements in it and artcore stuff. But besides that, yeah, I don't think this'll help you, but overall, you make great music as it is. Stay safe out there!

Like I mentioned on a few other videos, beats divided by 9/10/11/13/14/15 has been my go-to for all kinds of genres, goes so well with tonal rhythm/bpm tuning since it provides a very fast straight pulse everything is in the pocket with. Don't be afraid to have entire parts like the hats offset a 14th of a beat late or whatever, approximate triplets along those 14th beats, try crazy patterns, there's so many kinda grooves here, flam to snap into the snare, out off the kick etc. etc. etc.

Vibed really well to the ambient parts later on the Harmony Hacker album this morning, some more of that would also be nice

I would love to explore polymicrotonality and polyrhythms. Also Zhea Erose's shimmering effects. Make things as weird as possible and then find my way back to "normal" with new tools under my belt.

Consider experimenting with quintuplets and/or septuplets in the rhythm :D In case it helps find stuff, I know they’re called five-lets and seven-lets in at least one drum core

If you were me, what music would you be exploring next? Like, what directions should I be going in?
